Your 1:1s are where managers actually get better.
1:1 Meetings now run inside RedSeed, in the same place your team already learns. You plan the conversation, RedSeed writes it up, what you agreed becomes tasks, and the development that comes out of it links straight to courses in your own library.

- Managers and their team members build the agenda together, and Archie can help a manager prepare for the tricky parts.

Someone pushes back. Someone goes quiet. Someone says they’re ready for more. Or a manager finally raises the issue they’ve been putting off for three weeks.
These are the moments when management capability gets tested. They’re also opportunities for managers to practice, learn and get better.
That’s why we’ve brought 1:1 meetings into RedSeed.
Because developing great managers shouldn’t depend on whether someone happened to have a great manager themselves. Development should be deliberate, practical and connected to the conversations managers are already having.
Learning matters. So does what happens next.
Your managers can learn a lot from a course. But capability grows when they put that learning into practice.
It’s one thing for a manager to learn how to give feedback. It’s another to sit across from a team member who disagrees with it.
It’s one thing to learn how to coach. It’s another to know what to ask when a team member has stopped speaking up.
These are the moments where managers need to draw on what they’ve learned, try an approach and learn from what happens next.
Instead of giving managers development and hoping they apply it later, RedSeed can now support them closer to the moments when they need it.
Walk in ready, not winging it
A better 1:1 starts before the meeting begins.
Your managers can build an agenda ahead of time or start with a template. Their team members can add their own topics too, so both people have a say in what gets discussed.
Private notes can be added too, giving managers a place to prepare for topics they want to raise carefully.
And if managers need help preparing, they can ask Archie, our AI assistant. Archie can help them prepare, review previous discussions, or see what’s coming up.
Managers can ask Archie the honest version of the question: “One of my team has gone quiet since the restructure and I don’t know how to bring it up.”
Archie can help them work through how to approach the conversation.
Be in the conversation, not the admin
When your managers are in a 1:1, their job is to have the conversation, not write the minutes.
Managers can connect calendars and RedSeed can handle the recording, or they can upload audio themselves. After the meeting, RedSeed creates a written summary.
Anything agreed to during the meeting can become a task, with a clear owner. So when the next 1:1 comes around, the manager and their team member both know what was agreed and what needs to happen next.
No more opening the next meeting with: “So... where did we get to?”
The manager stays focused on the person in front of them. RedSeed takes care of the admin around the conversation.
And there’s an important distinction.
The manager still owns the conversation. AI helps draft the write-up. It doesn’t coach, score performance or make subjective judgements.
Development based on what’s happening now
This is where 1:1 Meetings connects back to learning.
RedSeed suggests relevant courses based on what actually came up in the meeting, using content from your learning library and excluding courses the manager has already completed.
So instead of assigning a manager a delegation course in January because it’s part of their development plan, imagine it being surfaced the week they say:
“I keep taking work back off my team.”
That’s when the learning is immediately useful.
The manager can enroll directly from the meeting summary and start building the skill while the need is still fresh.
Development becomes less about searching through a catalog for something that might help and more about connecting managers with learning when they need it.
A clearer picture of manager development
1:1 Meetings also give HR teams another piece of the development picture.
Course completions show what managers have completed. But they don’t show whether regular development conversations are happening between managers and their teams.
Meetings start to close that gap.
It helps HR see patterns in 1:1 activity across the organization and identify where managers may need more support.
Not individual scores. Not judgements about people.
Managers still own their conversations, while HR gets useful insight into whether the conversations that support development are happening consistently.
Ready to use 1:1 Meetings?
1:1 Meetings is rolling out to RedSeed customers now.
If you’d like it enabled for your team, talk to your account manager. They’ll help you get set up, including connecting calendars for recording.
And if you’ve been using RedSeed for years, this isn’t a move away from the learning your teams already rely on. It’s an extension of it.
We’re still helping people build capability through practical learning. Now we’re connecting that learning more closely to the conversations your managers are already having.
Because learning matters. But what managers do with it is what makes the difference.
Marius is RedSeed’s Head of Product. They work on what RedSeed builds next and why, most recently 1:1 Meetings, which brings the conversations managers are already having into the same place their teams learn.
